KPMG’s new 61,000 sq ft office at Sovereign Square in Leeds will be one of the firm’s largest sites outside of London, strategically located in the UK’s second financial centre.

The dynamic Leeds City Region economy offers immense potential for a professional services provider and KPMG assists both established and emerging businesses with their challenges in a competitive commercial environment, in the UK and overseas.

The Sovereign Street development will be operational in 2015 and will be a new home for KPMG’s 700 staff across the Leeds City Region with skills in audit, tax and advisory services including corporate finance, transaction services and restructuring.   Supported by the availability of high quality, flexible space with strong public transport links and access to high class graduate and undergraduate talent, KPMG has selected Leeds for its new Innovation and Solutions Centre. The site will create over 200 jobs and provide a hub for the exploration of new technology solutions that will support businesses from across the country.

“Leeds City Region is home to a world-class financial and professional community.  As a firm, we are committed to growing our presence here.  We recognise the wealth of talent; the availability of high quality space and strong connectivity links; and the superb offer as a place to live and work.  It is critical that we are part of a city that is generating new opportunities, new business and new wealth.”

“Developments such as the retail and leisure destination Trinity Leeds and the award-winning first direct Arena really have a bearing on investment decisions. KPMG was the first professional services firms to locate on the south side of the railway station in 1990 and connectivity, both technologically and physically, is extremely important to us. The council worked with us to develop the green spaces that help make our offices such a great place to work and the whole focus of the building is to foster a culture of collaboration with new and existing clients and colleagues. HS3 will potentially bring the new South Bank station development to the city, which generates confidence among clients and employees that Leeds City Region is a city region that’s building new business, attracting new opportunity and adding value to the economy.”
