Cyber-Duck announces new office in Leeds following record growth

London-based digital agency Cyber-Duck has announced the launch of its new office in Leeds following record growth.
With 17% revenue growth in 2017, Cyber-Duck has achieved strong organic growth working on digital transformation and website projects for clients including the Bank of England, Mitsubishi Electric, Thomas Cook Money and Cancer Research UK. This expansion into Yorkshire comes after a run of new account wins as the agency approaches its 13th anniversary. The agency looks to expand on its 45-strong team with the opening of its new office in Leeds, and to bring its accredited user-centred design and agile development process to organisations in the North wishing to digitally transform and innovate their products and services.
The agency has a growing roster of clients based in the North, all of whom recognise Cyber-Duck’s unique, triple ISO-accredited, user-centred approach to digital projects. To provide a better service for its Northern clients, and to offer its services to more companies, it was only natural for Cyber-Duck to open a new office in Leeds.
However, this wasn’t the only reason Leeds was of particular interest to Cyber-Duck. It is widely regarded as the UK’s next big digital scene, and it is clear why. The city region's £64.6bn economy has attracted a lot of investment, which has seen several start-ups acquire funding. In 2017, PwC recognised Leeds as joint first in its Good Growth for Cities report, acknowledging that the city had a growth potential of 92%. HMRC also recognises Leeds’ potential – the organisation will relocate to Leeds in 2020, bringing with it 6,000 civil servants. Likewise, NHS Digital is based in Leeds, and half of the North’s top ten digital agencies are based in the city. Cyber-Duck wants to contribute to this thriving digital scene, and will bring its long-running digital community the Digital Pond to Leeds. The Digital Pond is one of London’s largest digital communities with over 3,000 members.
Cyber-Duck will be based at the Platform, and plans to grow its presence within Leeds over the coming years. It is especially interested in working within the exciting FinTech scene in Leeds. The agency has already begun fostering relationships with FinTechNorth and other financial tech initiatives.
Siji Onabanjo, Growth Director at Cyber-Duck, said: “Having built up a great reputation as a leading user-centred digital transformation agency in London, we made the carefully considered decision to open up our third office in Yorkshire to further support our growing number of Northern clients.
“Leeds was the obvious choice. Enamoured by its fantastic digital buzz, active Fintech scene, and great pool of talent, we felt Leeds has a lot to offer Cyber-Duck, and Cyber-Duck has a lot to offer Leeds. We have transformed the digital presences of high-calibre clients like the Bank of England and Thomas Cook, and now we are keen to use our expertise to help more businesses excel with their digital ambitions.
“The Platform stood out as being a great place to begin our Leeds journey. We were hugely impressed with the Platform’s high quality workspaces and the culture of collaboration and innovation they foster. We look forward to becoming a real part of the thriving Leeds digital community and using our expertise to further drive digital growth in the region.”
Chief Executive at Leeds City Council Tom Riordan added: “We are immensely proud of and excited about the dynamic Digital sector being built here in Leeds. There is a huge amount of talent in the City and we look forward to welcoming the Cyber-Duck team. Having a successful London agency choosing Leeds as a key strategic location is a great win and will further enhance the digital services the City can offer.”
