Leeds City Council launches prestigious sites in Leeds City Centre

Interest is expected to be high around the sale of a prime site and heritage buildings in Leeds city centre, announced by Leeds City Council today at MIPIM.

The site at 2 Sovereign Square and the complex of three grade II listed buildings in the Civic Quarter mark the latest step in the council’s ambitious asset management programme.

Sovereign Square is an established business area of the city centre, which has undergone significant development and improvement in recent years, and is just three minutes’ walk from the new Southern entrance to Leeds station.

At the heart of the city’s civic quarter, the Leonardo, Thoresby House and 2 Great George Street complex benefits from proximity to the business, higher education and innovation districts.

The council services currently based in Leonardo, Thoresby House and 2 Great George Street will move to the new state-of-the-art hub at Merrion House.
