Leeds City Region Hosts Nordic-Baltic FinTech Visit

The visit aims to increase competitiveness in the Northern Powerhouse financial services industry by harnessing and growing the capability of the FinTech Capital of the North – Leeds City Region, alongside other locations such as Greater Manchester.

Conducted in partnership with the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Whitecap Consulting, the delegation features 20 highly innovative Nordic-Baltic FinTech firms.

The visiting FinTech firms are established businesses with world-class capability and a strong presence in their own financial services markets who are targeting international expansion. The aim being to facilitate commercial opportunities for these firms with UK financial institutions, and support them to potentially establish a presence in the Northern Powerhouse.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) has engaged Whitecap Consulting to help deliver this initiative and is visiting Leeds as it is recognised as the FinTech Capital of the North with strengths in payment processing, credit and risk management, data analytics, software development and platforms, cyber authentication security and network infrastructure.
