Leeds City Region schools top the table
01 Dec 2015
Two Leeds City Region schools have been named in the Sunday Time's top 10 best schools with one being named the publication's top state school.
Pupils and staff at Meanwood Church of England Primary have been praised for the school's exemplary SATS results and Ofsted reports.
Alongside Meanwood C of E primary school, Rastrick Independent School in Brighouse made the list of the country's top ten schools, with both schools the only representatives of the north in the list.
Headteacher of Meanwood C of E primary school, Helen Sanderson told the Yorkshire Post: “We’re just bowled over by the news.
“That’s out of 20,000 schools in the country.
“We have some particularly young and enthusiastic staff who have amazing stamina and are keen to learn from outstanding practitioners.
“We have high aspirations for everyone and I think our communication is good; everyone works closely together.
“But above all we put the children first.”
