Value

Value for money is central to the Leeds City Region investment offer. According to the DTZ European Occupancy Costs 2014 report, operating costs here are 28% lower than the south east of England, and up to 4.5% lower than in other UK regions. Prime office, industrial and retail sectors in Leeds are all currently at least five percent below market value.

"The opportunity to generate above average returns from commercial property within Leeds is largely unique within the UK as it occurs across all of the key market sectors. Backed up by the strong local economic growth outlook... Leeds offers investors a compelling story."

Greg Davison, Investment Director at the Leeds office of DTZ

Leeds was named one of the best cities in Europe to locate a business by global commercial properties consultants Cushman & Wakefield. In a report of over 35 European cities, Leeds ranked in the top three cities for value of office space.

Yet just because it’s better value to live and work in the Leeds City Region doesn’t mean you have to compromise on connectivity, talent and quality of life. Our economy is robust and buoyant too, showing resistance through recession and proof that land and property here is a stable investment, as well as excellent value for businesses who seek long-term growth.

Commitment to future value

In 2014 Leeds City Region secured £1bn Growth Deal with the UK government. This includes £537m between 2015-2021 to deliver an ambitious growth agenda, and a further £420m to deliver the West Yorkshire Transport Fund. £73m has been confirmed in the first year for projects that alone will help create up to 9,000 jobs, 1,000 new homes and generate up to £370m in public and private investment to boost regeneration, growth and jobs.

Major property and land regeneration projects are already underway. Projects like the Leeds City Region Enterprise Zone and the Bradford City Centre Growth Zone demonstrate the Leeds City Region's commitment to continued value, opening up new opportunities for long-term business growth.

Plus with incentives like the Assisted Area Enhanced Capital Allowance, Employment and Skills Fund and the Business Growth Fund, support is already in place for businesses who locate here.
